Dramality in the Shire
Dramality in the Shire
Recently there's been rather a fuss about a Dramality program soon to be filmed in Sutherland Shire.
However Sutherland isnt the only Shire in Sydney.
Hornsby has plenty of drama of its own.
Such as this afternoon's train derailment?!
However I'ld like to draw your attention to lighter dramas and local tragicomedies and melodrama.
THE ANGST of Beasts
An Opera starring Oscar a magnificent baritone and his famous aria
Why oh why oh why must I stay home alone guarding this yard unappreciated ....
Hornsby also has its own ongoing soap opera featuring the CWA versus the council
Then there's the mystery of who really owns that vacant lot that could have been the alternate route to access the building site for the pool renovation?
Dramality???
How about some ACTUAL journalism focusing on real life drama?
Now I must go web surf for news about the derailment since apparently news film crew have been diverted to the oh so important task of giving people opportunities t make complete fools of themselves.
No wait we have American politicians who think a presidency is the award for a "I'm the least onbnoxious right wing Republican candidate competition' and mining millionaires who think the CIA are linked to the Greens.
Dramality?
It seems there's no escaping it! ?

Bored Burras
Even the local kookaburras are starting to get fed up with all the rain!
The burras recently parked themselves on my railing looking very and UNusually disgruntled.
I think they perched there to shake some of the water off their plumage!

Smoking in Hornsby
SMOKING IN HORNSBY
There's a proposed ban in smoking indoors as well as outdoors in any eating area in Hornsby and other parts of Sydney and NSW.
I have no problem with designated areas for those who refuse to go cold turkey and give up nicotine.
What causes the problems for smokers and non smokers alike and has lead to the bans being further extended are those many "CHARMING" individuals who think smokers have rights ... the right to ignore NON smoking signs.
I have limited or perhaps microscopic sympathy for smokers having had several relatives get sick with cancer who either smoked themselves or lived with smokers and having had a chronic bronchitis condition which improved greatly when smoking was banned in trains and buses and other public areas.
Perhaps smokers wouldnt be having the last legal smoking areas removed or shrunk further if they'd done the following?
Try s NOT going into shops and buying cigarettes for under age teenagers.
I know of several older teenagers who hang around Hornsby Mall who buy cigarettes for under aged smokers.
Every time I've caught them handing out the death sticks and told them its NOT legal or ethical for them to do so all I get is abuse and NO support from other adults nearby who are ignoring the problem.
Then there's those the smokers who stand in doorways so the rest of us have to walk thru their smoke?
Where's security? They must be visible on the cameras?
And then there's the impossibility of "al fresco" cafe dining for the rest of us cos the outodoor areas are given over to smokers.
Smokers had rights and abused them. Time to give up the death sticks or accept the limitations on your "rights" more graciously?
Personally I'ld like to be able to sit outside and eat and only have to worry about flies or the wind and rain?
