Tree Ferns in Normanhurst park

Copyright Julie Vaux 2013
This tree fern was shot at an angle from higher on on a slope. If you want to see mature tree ferns over 6 feet tall and don't mend a path you will definitely need good shoes and a dry day to descend check out the trail that runs down along the creek on the eastern side of Normanhurst park.

Eugene Drinking

One of the reasons feral peacocks linger near housing is probably food and water.

I suspect given the intermittent water flow in local creeks Eugnee and family also make use of pet food and water bowls or browse on garden plants?

Be patient with them and remember they also hunt and eat baby snakes and may be the reason  why I havnt read any local reports about kids and pets getting bitten by snakes for a while?

Mrs Eugene the Peahen

Eugene the Normanhurst Peacock has I believe 2 wives that have been seen but when I had a chance to photo them only one was around.

Hopefully the rest of his family are still alive and well.

If you this bird it is NOT a scrub turkey.

Peacocks have 2 long claws so don't let them fight with your dogs.

Wisteria

The local wisteria is blossoming now!

Here's two photos to enjoy!

One from Pretoria parade and another from that park down near Normanhurst station.
